Obituary of Margaret Ann Herrin
April 5, 1934 – January 10, 2026
Waterville: Margaret A. Herrin passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on January 10, 2026. Margaret was born in Bath Maine April 5, 1934 the daughter of Andrew and Mabel (Mitchell) Cahill. She attended Morse High School graduated class of 1952. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mabel Cahill, and brothers; Russell, Richard and John Cahill.
Margaret was a woman of grace and warmth, known for her kind, gentle and nurturing spirit. She possessed a quiet strength and an abiding faith that carried her through life’s joys and challenges. Her presence was a sanctuary of love and comfort, a beacon of resilience and hope for all who knew her. Margaret was blessed with a loving family who were the center of her universe. She is survived by her four children: sons Andrew and his wife Jackie Herrin, Edward and his wife Sandra Herrin, John Herrin and partner Barbara Berube, daughter Stephanie and husband Harry Rancourt, twelve beloved grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Margaret’s life was a celebration of the simple joys and profound connections. She found delight in the tender moments of everyday life, from the laughter of her grandchildren to the warmth of a shared meal most definitely followed by ice cream. Margaret’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and a life well-lived. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her and to be held in the embrace of her loving heart. May her gentle soul find eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to guide and inspire us all.
The family invites loved ones to the burial service on Saturday May 9, 2026 10AM at Oak Grove Cemetary in Bath.
In remembrance of Margaret, donations may be made to the Ronald MacDonald House Maine or the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer Center, in lieu of flowers. Margaret A.
