Erika B. L. Pfander Obituary

Erika Pfander, of Thomaston, passed away recently after a long illness. She was born Betty Louise Sampson in Fernwood, Idaho on November 3, 1939. At the age of two, her parents moved to Seattle with Erika and her three sisters. They bought a house on Queen Anne Hill, close to a grade school and high school. They lived there until the mid-sixties. Erika married Joseph Pfander, in June of 1965. In February 1982, their only child, Sophie Marie was born. In the spring of 1987, they moved to Maine- first Belfast, then to Thomaston in 1988. They were divorced in 1999. Erika is survived by her beautiful daughter, Sophie, her cherished grandson, Samuel Dylan Jewett, her twin sister Beatrice Taylor, her older sister Patti Egeck, and her nieces and nephews in the Northwest. There will be no services. Remembrances may be made to her daughter, Sophie Marie Pfander and/or to the St. John’s Episcopal Church of Thomaston, The Thomaston Public Library, or an animal sanctuary of your choice.
