Garold Lee Demmons Sr. Obituary

Warren- Garold L Demmons Sr, 70, passed away November 29,2025 peacefully with his brothers Leslie, Billy and son Garold Jr by his side. He went his way, on his terms “falling asleep and not waking up.”  Garold was born February 8,1955 in Rockland, Maine to Carroll and Agnus (Hoar) Demmons.

Always a hard worker and staying busy, he had many passions including bowling, auctions for Bruce Gamage and of course cooking Lobster at the Maine Lobster Festival which he did for many years and was passionate about. He instilled that same passion in his children and grandchildren. “I have never looked at shucking an ear of corn the same way after those seemingly endless bags.” He loved going to Crystal Falls dances with family and friends.

He enjoyed working as a roofer, at Cedar Works and was an all-around handyman. Garold did life his way, living as if he had unlimited life. Relations with his children were formed later in life, the 23 years we had with him are irreplaceable. His late wife Priscilla was the light of his life along with his children and grandchildren. His passing has left an emptiness in everyone that loved and knew him.

Predeceased by both parents, his loving wife Priscilla (2023), two brothers George (1996), James (2016), a nephew Alden Hupper (2015) and a grandson Warren Sherburne (2019).  Garold is survived by his children Kelly, Garold Jr (Tasheba) and Tyanna. Brothers Vernon (Vicki), Leslie (Kathy), William (Bill), Blaine and 1 sister Delores. 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren who he loved deeply. Many nephews, nieces, in-laws, friends and stepchildren that held a special place in his heart. Special friends Vernon, Ronny and many more.

Special thank you to all the Doctors and nurses at Pen Bay Hospital that kept him comfortable and to his brothers, our uncles, Les and Bill for ensuring his comfort through the process. We know it was easier for him because you were there with him.

Per “his way” there will be no services instead in his honor please volunteer at the Maine Lobster Festival, they will need help cooking as Dad has officially retired.  Memories and condolences may be shared with his family on his tribute wall.

See ya later daddy, loving you always and forever, “Your # 1.”
