Geraldine "Gerry" (Sands) Woods passed away on November 28, 2025 at the age of 84. She was born on August 21, 1941 the daughter of Castella Minnie Parker Sands Jewel and Woodford G. Sands. She attended Crosby High School in Belfast where she met the love of her life, James N. Woods. She married James N. Woods on March 11, 1959. They had three daughters, Julie, Karen and Debi within a year and a half of each other. She was a mother who always had a home cooked meal and desert for dinner where the family gathered around the table every night. She worked at the Dairy Cup, Registry of Deeds and the voting polls thoughout her life. 

In high school, she met her lifelong friend Loretta Eastman. Loretta stood by her side faithfully through bible study and watching General Hospital on Wednesdays whenever she could. She fondly remembers Mike and Elaine Butler and the many card nights and trips they took together. Her favorite memory was the ride around Lake Tahoe.

She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 18. She wanted to help others with an MS diagnosis and made plans to donate her brain tissue to the National Neurological Research Bank for further research at Columbia University Medical Center. She is grateful for all of her caregivers throughout the years. She was able to stay at home most recently with the care given by Marcia Richardson, Diane Ryder, Allie Naumann and Maine Health Home Health and Hospice. Through the care and hospice, she was able to stay at home until her last day on Earth.

She was predeceased by her husband, James N. Woods, her grandsons Stephen James Littlefield and Daniel James Danforth. She was the youngest of six siblings all of whom she survived. Through these losses, she remained faithful to the Lord and found strength to carry on. She was a woman of strength and positivity. Her favorite passage was "I can do all things through Christ". Phillipians 4:13. She left this Earth the way she lived her life; with strength, courage, love, and faith. 

She is survived by her daughter Julie Beaulieu, Karen Littlefield, Debra Danforth and her husband Frank, and many family and friends.
