Timothy A. Riley Obituary

Timothy (Tim) A. Riley, passed away on July 6, 2025. He was 69 years old. Tim was born June 19, 1956, the only son of 4 children to Francis and Patricia Riley. Tim married the love of his life, Paula (Knapp) in 2005. Tim and Paula enjoyed  over 20 years of life together; both deserved so much longer.

Brother to Barbara, Lynn and Pam, Tim would learn early on how special and important family was. He loved his family immensely. Surrounded by a loving mother and his sisters growing up, may have given Tim his gentle, caring and loving nature. He would always greet you with a smile, radiating happiness and genuine, sincere kindness. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Tim would agree, he was not only a gentleman, he was a gentle man.

Tim graduated Belfast Area High School in 1974.  In school, Tim enjoyed the drama club, acting and singing in the choir; he was a wonderful singer. After graduation, he worked at Sprowl Bros. and at Harris Bakery as a truck driver, until he found his career calling, as an automobile salesman, working 40 years in the profession. He started at Bill Dodge, worked at Kallis Ford for many years and finished his career at Newcastle until his retirement. Tim was highly respected by his customers and business colleagues alike. He had a following of customers for decades who trusted him to help them with their needs. His Sister Barbara (Kenney), trusted her brother to choose her new car, right down to the color. She didn’t know what she was buying until she picked it up, and it was perfect.  That is how trusted Tim was. If you were fortunate enough to know him, to call him a friend, you knew you had a trusted friend for life.

Tim was a member of the Northport Golf Club where he enjoyed camaraderie and friendship with everyone playing the game he so loved.  NGC shared with us, “Tim was always a positive in the Pro Shop (where he worked), and will be missed”.  Tim’s other passions were fishing and hunting, especially with his Uncle Brian Curry. Tim loved life.  He loved his family and friends, and he will be forever missed.

Tim’s time was cut very short, very suddenly. Family and friends rallied, supporting Tim and Paula. His angel here on earth, Sister Barb, stopped her life to be next to her brother from the onset of his illness. She never left him, being there to care for him when he needed her the most.

Tim was predeceased by his parents; his Daughter Bianca K. Riley; Sisters Lynn Jasienowski and Pamela Flanders and Brother-in-Law, William Flanders.

Tim is survived by his wife Paula (Knapp) Riley, Sister Barbara Kenney and her Husband Alan; Children Jonathan, Justin and Brittany, 4 grandchildren, many cousins and extended family members.

The family extends special thanks to the Sussman House, especially nurse Cyndy for her compassion and gentle care and to Tim, and to Brian and Roanne Curry, who’s love and compassion will forever be remembered.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at the Northport Cemetery on Beach Hill Road, August 2nd at 1:00 PM.  There will be a gathering afterwards at Barbara and Alan Kenney’s home at 967 Atlantic Highway in Northport. Bring a chair and dish to share if you can, as we celebrate Tim’s life.

Arrangements are by Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast, Maine.
