Obituary of Patricia N. Treworgy

Patricia Ann (Newcomb) Treworgy of Milbridge, ME beloved wife, mother, grammy, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 19, 2025 at the age of 91 in Belfast, ME.

Patricia was born on March 10, 1934 in Newburg, ME, the daughter Kenneth Trafton Newcomb and Ruth (Severance) Newcomb. She graduated from Hampden Academy in 1952 and then went on to Husson College earning a teaching degree in 1955.

Patricia married William Howard Treworgy on June 10, 1955. They remained married for 63 years until William’s death in November 2017. Patricia had three boys, Kenneth, Eric and Kevin. She had seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Patricia taught and coached sports at Hampden Academy for a few years in the 1950s until her family moved out of state. After having children, she was a homemaker but an avid volunteer: YWCA, Thrift Shop, Women’s Club, Historical Society, and Rescue Squad.

While living in Maryland for 22 years, she and Bill loved to go camping with the local camping club. The family would make their annual pilgrimages to Maine to spend time with family on Swan Lake. Upon Bill’s retirement, they moved back to her beloved Maine to Milbridge, and spent as much time as they could at the camp they built on Swan Lake surrounded by family.

Patricia was a member of the Hampden and Milbridge Congregational Churches.

Patricia was known for pleasant demeanor, beautiful smile, and her baking, pies and cookies especially. She enjoyed playing bridge with the “girls” in Milbridge.

Remaining to cherish Patricia’s memory are children, Kenn (Betty), Eric (Cindy), and Kevin (Patti); grandchildren, Nicole, Tyler, Danielle, Alicia, Brent, Evan, and Alexis; great-grandchildren, Teona, Zarija, Luke, John, and Cyrus; brother, Larry Newcomb; and many nieces and nephews and their spouses.

Preceding Patricia in death are spouse, William H. Treworgy; parents, Kenneth and Ruth Newcomb; and brothers, Roger and Richard Newcomb.

A memorial service/internment will be held July 26, 2025, at 11:00am at the Green Lawn Cemetery, Swanville, ME.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to a scholarship fund being established in memory of Patricia’s name may be sent to Hampden Academy Boosters Club, c/o Hampden Academy, 89 Western Ave., Hampden, ME 04444
