Obituary of Nancy A. Pooler
Nancy Pooler, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital. She was born on December 25, 1951, in Belfast, Maine, to the late Harry and Sybil Pooler.
Nancy attended school in Belfast and proudly graduated from Belfast Area High School, Class of 1971. She cherished lifelong friendships with classmates Alice and Judy.
After high school, Nancy worked at two local manufacturing companies where she served as an inspector and was known for her exacting quality standards. Following her retirement, she devoted herself to lovingly caring for her parents until their passing.
Nancy’s pastimes included reading the daily newspaper and People Magazine and, in the days when she could, going for a drive in her car. She loved nothing more than hopping in her car for a scenic road trip or travelling to visit family throughout the state. Above all, Nancy treasured the time she spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Maurice. She is survived by her brothers, Harrison Pooler and his wife Lisa Bernosky, and Keith Pooler and his wife Connie; her sister, Mary Sargent and her husband Glen; sisters-in-law Cathy Pooler and Beverly Larochelle; ten nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces/nephews, and many dear friends.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding care team at Quarry Hill Assisted Living in Camden for their compassionate support.
A private graveside service for close family and friends will be held in July. Nancy will be laid to rest in Smart Cemetery alongside her parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Maine, 525 Main Street, Unit D, South Portland, ME 04106.
