Sandra Jean Goguen, passed away on May 14, 2025, at the age of 79.

A graveside celebration of life for Sandra J. (Harvey) Goguen will be held on June 8 at 1pm at Springer Cemetery West River Rd. in Sidney ME.  All are welcome to attend.

She was the second of six children, Gerald Trainor, David Harvey, Judith Thomas, Deborah Roberts, and Linda Harvey, born to Marguerite Harvey (King) Seekins and Robert Harvey. She was married to Robert Ackley - they divorced in 1994, and she married Roland Goguen in 1995.

Sandra was a member of the Crosby class of 1965 and received her diploma in 1979. She worked at Bradbury Manor as a CNA and CRMA. She continued her studies to become a Phlebotomist, a Certified Medical Assistant, a Medical Code Technician, and an X-ray Technician at Sanford Hospital in Sanford, Florida. Sandra worked in the Cardiac unit, monitoring and supporting cardiac patients. Sandra and Roland worked together at Spurwick Services for five years, helping teenagers learn the necessary skills to become confident adults. She was also a Cosmetologist with her own salon in Belfast, Maine. Sandra and Roland delivered Meals-On-Wheels for Senior Spectrum in Waterville for over 5 years. She could carry on a conversation with anyone at any time, and loved to talk about her family.

Sandra was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Post #887 in Augusta, ME and VFW post 3108 Auxiliary in Belfast ME. As President, she accomplished every goal set for the year and won many awards. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Arbutus Chapter #18 in Liberty, ME. She actively attended Vassalboro Methodist Church in Vassalboro, ME.

Sandra is survived by her husband Roland Goguen of Waterville; her children Wayne Ackley, and his wife Lisa of Clermont, FL; and Gwen Ackley of Swanville, Me. She is also survived by her three siblings David Harvey of Belfast, Judy Thomas of Waterville, Debbie Roberts and her husband Fred of Fairfield. Her four grandchildren Samantha McKelvey, her husband Jacob and their daughter Autumn Jade of Cambridge MD; Steven Ackley of Bucksport; Brody Sylva,his wife Mary, their daughter Ava Grace of Farmington; and Garrett Sylvia of Swanville. Sandra was pre-deceased by her parents Marguerite Seekins and Robert Harvey, her sister Linda Harvey, and Brother Gerald Trainor.

Sandra passed peacefully, surrounded by her family and friends.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 19th at 1 pm at Riposta Funeral Home 182 Waldo Ave. Belfast.  Interment will be announced at a later date in Sidney, ME.  Memories and condolences may be shared on her tribute wall at www.ripostafh.com
