
Obituary of Roger Earl Murray
JACKSON — Roger Earl Murray, 74 of Jackson, formally of Lynn, Mass., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 1, 2025.
Roger was a jack-of-all-trades. He spent his career trying many different professions, including law enforcement officer, heavy equipment operator, carpenter, truck driver, farmer and working as a volunteer fire fighter serving over 25 years on the Jackson Fire Department.
Roger was a kind man who always had a smile on his face and was willing to lend a helping hand at any time. He loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were lifelong passions. Fishing always included his other two passions, a faithful dog and a grandchild. He was known to be a teller of tall tales to his grandchildren, whom he loved and supported in every aspect of their lives.
Roger was predeceased by his beloved wife, Martha; and his parents, Millard and Dorothy (Howard) Murray.
He is survived by his children, Joy and Brian Doherty, Shawn and Sarah Murray, Lisa and Nate Martin, Michelle and Phil Ferragamo and daughter-in-law Kitina York; grandchildren, Ryan S., Joshua, Michael, Anthony, Tyler, Matthew, Kassidy, Jonathan, Zachary, Ryan M. and Joey; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Ruth Parsons, Margie O’Donnell and Wayne Murray; sister-in-law, Kim Green; special cousin, Janice Welch; and lifelong best friend, Karen Prouty.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, May 10, at 11 a.m., at Jackson Corner cemetery on Kimball Hill Road, with a celebration of life to follow at the Jackson Community Center on Village Road.
