Melvin Wilbur Ryder
Burnham – Melvin Wilbur Ryder, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home in Burnham. He was born in Monroe on September 17, 1933, son of Frank and Phoebe (Knowlton) Ryder. He was the husband of the late Clara (Clark) Ryder. He was a lifelong member of the Hungry Hollow 76’ers snowmobile club in Levant, ME. He enjoyed going to the music jams, dancing and talking to many friends. He enjoyed watching car races and baseball games. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening. He always had a beautiful garden and took pride in having peas ready for the 4th of July. He worked in the heating business for Robinson & Kenny for many years, then he had his own heating business for many years. He was predeceased by a sister, Maryann Sprague. He is survived by a brother, Dennis Ryder; three sons, Melvin Lee, Ted, Wayne; one daughter, Cindy; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by a very special part of the family, Maxine Trafton, who welcomed him into her home. They enjoyed their lives together and we will be forever grateful to her. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
