
Obituary of Neva L. Moody
January 26, 2025 Neva L (Giggie) Moody 89, joined her beloved husband Charles Dale Moody surrounded by her loved ones. Neva was born December 3, 1935 Happy Corner in Patten Maine to Theodore & Bernice Giggie. Neva was the last of 7 children to be born and the last one to leave.
Neva graduated from Monroe High School. Neva met her husband Dale Moody, who lived on the other side of the stream, as children. Neva married the love of her life Charles Dale Moody on April 1, 1955. They started their family while living in Washington State after Dale’s enlistment in the Air Force. They then returned to Monroe where they raised their family and enjoyed retirement together during the 67 years of their wonderful marriage. Neva was a CNA at Waldo County Hospital 20+ years all the while raising her 3 children. Neva loved cooking, gardening and being at her favorite place Swan Lake with her family.
Neva was predeceased by her beloved Dale in 2023, her 4 sisters Phylis, Avis, Ruth, Mary Lou and her 2 brothers Edwin and Theodore.
Neva is survived by her daughter Karen and her husband Bill, her son Michael and his wife Debbie and her daughter Janet. Neva left grandkids who adored her; Miranda Ethridge and her wife Leslie, Donnie Downs, Devan Moody and his wife Lauren, Troy Moody and his wife Cassandra and Jahfari Maddo. She was blessed with 4 great-grandchildren Aiden Ali, Allison and Jace Moody and Henry Moody. Neva has numerous nieces, nephews and adopted “children” who will miss her tremendously.
Neva is also survived by four brother-in-laws Stephen Moody and wife Barbara, Ronald Moody and wife Sheila, Richard Pepin and Clyde Epperson and sister-in-law Marie Giggie. Neva’s constant companion Taffy will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be mailed to the Waldo County Pet Food Pantry, 34 Field Street, Belfast Maine 04915 or to any other Pet Shelter/Pantry of your choosing.
Neva’s service will be on March 22nd at 11am in the Monroe Community Church. A reception will follow downstairs.
Neva’s love, smile, hugs and donuts will be dearly missed.
