Obituary of Helen J. Marden

Helen J. Marden of Brooks,Maine passed away peacefully on January 20th after a brief illness.  She was born September 16, 1943 to Percy and Eliza Humphrey of Brooks,Maine.  Helen graduated from Morse Memorial High School with the class of 1961.  She was employed by Truitt Brothers in Belfast for many years.  She married Ashbury, her husband of 60 years in 1964. Together they had one daughter, Marie Marden.  She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Brooks and enjoyed volunteering in the church Thriftshop for many years.  She was an avid reader and gardener.  One of her favorite pastimes was sitting in the backyard watching the clouds.  She loved nature and especially beautiful sunsets.  She is survived by her husband Ashbury Marden, daughter Marie Marden and partner Jeff Vandrey. She is also survived by her brothers Arthur Humphrey and his wife Susan, and Dennis Humphrey as well as sisters Phyllis Gaul and Geraldine Wood.  Helen was predeceased by her parents, a brother Wallace Humphrey and sister Althea Turner.  A private service will be held at a later date.  Rest easy, Mom.
