Hildegard Wall, 83 of Camden passed away on June 19, 2024. Hilde was born on November 5, 1940, in Germany, the daughter of Adam and Franziska Mueller.
Hilde and her son Werner came to the United States in July of 1970. She taught herself to speak, read and write the English language. Hilde worked for the most part of her life in the hospitality business in various positions, mostly in management. She was the first women supermarket Manager in the State of Maine. Hilde worked for ten years at Sampsons Supermarket in Belfast; she worked for a lot of years at Jordan's Restaurant in Searsport and at Jed Prouty's Inn in Bucksport. She also worked in Boston and Upstate New York for eight years. In 1991 Hilde started her own business In Needlecraft's Antiques and Jewelry. She enjoyed working with the public and teaching her coworkers how to excel and get into better positions.
Hilde was predeceased by her Husband Robert in 1997. Surviving are her son Werner Poppe and his friend Dianna Lord; her grandchildren Justin and Sarah; her great grandchild Claire; and her sisters in Germany.
