I am so sorry to hear about Chip's passing. This news is truly tragic and I send my deepest condolences and strength to carry on. Chip and I worked together at Maine Inland Fish & Wildlife for many years. Chip was an incredibly knowledgeable freshwater biologist and a great field fisheries survey tech. We had a lot of fun while surveying streams all over Maine! Chip assisted with so many aspects in the creation and implementation of our stream survey program. He compiled and wrote the original draft of our field manual for the identification of Maine's freshwater fishes and he created our Stream Survey database, both of these products are still in use within the agency today. I wanted to share with you some photos of Chip while he worked with us in IFW. I hope they bring at least a little joy. Chip always had a smile, a joke, a book reference, whatever was needed to get through the day no matter the conditions, and we were wet, cold, muddy a lot.
