Gary graduated from Crosby High School in 1963, he graduated from University of Maine in Orono with a degree in agricultural mechanics in 1966. His work included chicken farming, ran a gravel pit, truck driving, managing a rope test strength facility and selling farm equipment for Ingraham Equipment Company. Gary was involved for many years as a selectman, the volunteer fire department and water company for the town of Morrill. Gary was an active member of the Morrill Baptist Church, Fair Haven Camps and recently the Neighborhood House in Belfast.
Gary was a great man of faith and a solid rock for his family and friends, many of which sought out his advice and wisdom. You could find him at his table for a coffee break or on his four-wheeler checking on his cows and chickens. He loved to go for rides with family and friends to look at farms or construction sites. Summer nights he loved to sit on the porch of the family camp surrounded by those he loved.
The family would like to thank Beacon Hospice for the care and support given to us through these past couple of weeks, especially Miles, Cassie and Allison.
Gary's celebration of life will be at the Morrill Church, 26 South Main Street, Morrill, Maine on Saturday July 16 at 1:00 pm with a coffee break to follow.
Family and friends who wish may make donations to Fair Haven Camps, 81 W. Fair Haven Lane, Brooks Maine, 04921 or Neighborhood House, 17 4 Congress Street, Belfast Maine, 04915.
