BELFAST VIRGINIA E. HUGHES, 83, died July 21, 2009 in Belfast. She was born June 11, 1926 in Bangor, daughter of Edgar and Charity (Shaw) Burgin. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and watching old western movies. Virginia loved picnics and outings. She attended Spectrum Generations three days a week. She loved her grandchildren very much. She was predeceased by her parents and a daughter, Adeline Hughes as well as 7 brothers and sisters. Virginia is survived by her children, Margaret H. Bonney of Belmont, Robert A. Hughes II and wife Marion of Belfast, Iris Hooper and husband Dennis of Frankfort; grandchildren, Lisa Sambrook, Jennifer Selendy, Melissa Wallace, Benjamin Hooper, Melanie Hughes, Robert Hughes III; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jerica, Lakin, Kali, Christopher, Helene, Jason, Nicole, Gracie, Alia, Dagon, Max, Liam, Alex, Marina, Benjamin Jr.; two great-great grandchildren, Cort and Gillian. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast.
