Errol G. Littlefield, Sr., passed away tragically when his lobster boat flipped over in Searsport Harbor on October 22, 2022. He died doing what he loved.
Errol was born to Leroy and Lila (Grant) Littlefield on April 29, 1946, in Belfast, Maine, one of eight children. Errol enlisted in the Army National Guard in April of 1964. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He worked as a dock worker in Searsport, was a mason, and a mechanic. Enlisting in 1964, he retired from the Army National Guard, Corps of Engineers, after 26 years of honorable service, which included the construction of the training area, rappel tower, and obstacle course at the Bog Brook Training Site in Gilead, Maine. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #43 in Belfast, Maine.
Errol was predeceased by his parents, Leroy and Lila; his brother Rodney and sister in law Betty; his son Scott and infant triplet sons Brent, Bradley, Brian; son in law Frederick Smith II; and nephew Edwin (Butch) Littlefield, Jr.
Errol is survived by his children: Errol Littlefield Jr. (wife Karen) of Rockland, David Luce (partner Aimee) of Washington, Jami Weiner (husband Rosie) of Waterville, Katherine Smith of Searsmont and stepson Leonard Harvey III of Waldo; sisters: Joyce, Faye (husband Francois), Sharon (husband Ernie); brothers: Andy, William (wife Heidi), and Edwin Sr.; and a very special nephew Richard Littlefield (wife Lisa). 15 grandchildren: Christopher, Nicholas, Meagen, Jacob, Reva-Marie, Tori, Alexis, Taren, Alvin, Derrick, Sylis, Tyler, Kamiryn, Brooklin and Frederick III. 13 great-grandchildren: Luna, Lucian, Lyle, Kali, Reeslyn, Liam, Tommy, Maggie, Devin, Easton, Laekyn, Stella, Kailyn; and Mikey Jr., his very special kitty.
Services were held on November 20, 2022. His ashes will be spread with his parents at a later date.
